| 1. Only use TOP QUALITY Consumables in your valuable printer. | |||||||||||
| Original equipment manufacturers such as Epson & Canon recommend that you only use top quality consumables in your printer.
Jet Tec cartridges are made in the UK by an ISO 9001 registered firm, and are used by Pro photographers and Graphic designers, people that demand high quality. Most compatibles are totally manufactured or have inks that come out of Southern China, Korea and / or Malaysia and have not obtained ISO 9000. ISO = International Standards Organisation |

| 2. Replace your old empty cartridge with a new one at the same time. | |||||||||||
| Removing your old empty cartridge and not replacing it with a new cartridge immediatly runs the risk of nozzel blockage. Because inks dry with contact with air, any remaining ink in the print head area may dry out and cause a blockage. This will result in one of more colours not printing out when you do finally replace the cartridge or a banding or streaking effect may appear on the printed page. ( see support for more info ) The common mistake is to think the cartridge is faulty.
9 times out 10 a simple print head clean will fix the problem, but why risk it? |

| 3. Run a print head clean every time you replace a cartridge. | |||||||||||
| It is a good practise to run a print head clean every time you change a cartridge. Cleaning the print head will ensure that all nozzels are clear and working. A nozzel check will show if there are any blockages. Some times paper fibers can also cause blockages and / or leave extra ink marks on areas intended to be clear. Lower grade papers and copy type papers are more prone to loose fibers. | |||||||||||
| 4. Make use of the print time option. | |||||||||||
| When you are printing many pages and / or pages that contain large areas of solid ink coverage. eg a photograph. Use the print time option to spread the print jobs out a little. Desktop printers are designed for home and office use, not commercial printing.
What can happen when you run your printer non stop, if it is very hot or the room is not well ventilated, is the print head can become over worked and print quality may decrease. This may be evident by text becoming less crisp or small dots of ink appearing around the image. By spacing the print jobs out a liitle you should avoid problems. You can also use the print time option to print after hours and schedule your computer to turn off after the print jobs have finished. |

| 5. Check the print settings and page set up. | |||||||||||
| Make sure you print at the right settings. Different settings may be required with different papers and images. Check the paper type, resolution, speed, and set up. Use the print preview option to see where the image is going to print on the page. | |||||||||||
| 6. Use the printer on a regular basis. | |||||||||||
| Desktop printers are designed to be used on a regular basis. eg once a week. If you haven't used the printer for a while, run a nozzel check and / or a print head clean first. Don't leave the printer in storage with empty cartridges, make sure the cartridges still have ink in them. | |||||||||||
